A great broom!
This is an Up-to-the-Task horse hair broom, and uniquely different than the "Split Hair" horse hair broom, if you're trying to decide which to consider. I will offer this: This broom, the Redecker Horse Hair broom, is 11' wide and has a stockier wood... stock? (The piece that holds the hair). The Split Horse Hair has a 9.75 inch 'stock', and is nicely rounded. The Split Horse Hair broom has more compact horse hair bristles and is in my opinion, a great floor duster for this reason.
The horse hair of this Redecker Horse Hair broom, is fine and soft, longer than the Split Hair horse hair, and will sweep up efficiently and effectively virtually anything, but not heavy things like big nuts or bolts, as the fraction of longer hair sweeps over them.
I use this broom in a horse tack shed, where everything seems to land on the plywood floor, like grain, dirt, mud droppings from boots, blown in leaves, bits of everything! It is divinely perfect for this job; however, corners can be awkward with the wider sweeping stock of 11 inches.
With the longer and soft horse hair, this Redecker Horse Hair broom glides magically across any smooth surface, whereby you'll be looking for things to sweep because it's so utterly satisfying!
I did not find it industrial enough for surfaces like rough cement or aggregate, or any really rough surface.
I tried it at home on my wood floors before it was off to the horse ranch, and it was wonderfully wonderful for any house…
